Erik Von Ploennies began experimenting with art in 2004, at age 34, after seeing Vasily Kandinsky's "Painting with White Border" at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. In 2007, with no art training, he left his career in electrical engineering and moved to Brooklyn, New York, to pursue his artistic interests. Eric classifies his work as primitive abstract, and mixes painting, drawing, and a variety of mediums and styles. In addition to Kandinsky, his influences include Twombly, Rauschenberg, and Basquiat. The artist is actively exhibiting in New York City. |
